(Note: '$' signs on the cert is to prevent fraud. heh..but mine's not)

As you would have realised by now (colourful certificate for reaching the peak),I've reached Low's Peak, the highest point of Mount Kinabalu. Given the curent status of my 'fitness', i would say i was proud i made it to the top. i'm so unfit right now, to the point that im getting really fat. It's unhealthy. So new year resolution: Get back to 'Fit' mode.

Embarked on the journey on the 1st day of Chinese New Year. Dad, mum, brother and me scaled to Laban Rata (6km hike). It was definitely a test of endurance and patience more than anything else. It was extremely tough. Me and brother took about 4 hours to reach the resthouse while my parents took 6 hours. I even went down to look for them cos i started ti get worried when they havent appeared after so long. They took almost an hr for the last 500 metres. But i was proud of them when they arrived.me and my bro halfway there.
This is the ranking board at the start of the hike. It shows the time taken to go up to Laban Rata and back down. freaks..

Shame on you, siongyin. u actually need a porter to carry your luggage? Diana is our porter's name. strong! We paid her RM$90 only to get a 10KG luggage up a 6km hike. She's 42 and i'm only 21 this year. See the vast difference. And the best part of all, she's ranked number 7 or 8 in the ranking charts. If only the chart shows top 10.

Finally reached Laban Rata resthouse. Mum and dad finally made it after a long time. heh...

0.5 star bunk bed in Laban Rata. Walls are made of wood. can hear almost everything that's happening in the resthouse.
Took a freezing cold shower cos the heater couldn't heat up the water fast enough. But felt damn refreshed. Clouds were flying past every now and then. rocks.

This was dinner. Loads of carbo, ready to scale to Low's Peak at 2am in the morning the next day. Surprisingly, food tasted not bad (or maybe it's just that i was too hungry)

Full and above the clouds. air's damn refreshin.

Ready to scale that shit in a matter of hours.
Finally reached the peak. Was freezing up there. I would say the temperature was about 1 or 2 deg? It was the wind man. The brochures mentioned that winds can go up to 120km/h. i know...wtf.
It was a very tough journey along the way. Me and bro had to carry a torch in one hand and climbed. Terrain was much worse than wat we did from starting point to Laban Rata. It was about 10times worse. And at that altitude, breathing wasn't easy. (for people who scale it with ease, congrats and respect u. as i said, i'm gettin damn unfit and fat) When i reached the top, really felt damn satisfied that i actually made it to the top. View was breath-taking.

Another nice view on the way down. Amazin ehy?
Sun-rise! this was taken on the way down. as u can see from the picture that my hair is blown to one side, u can imagine how strong the wind was.

Full blown hair again. See the sharp peak behind me? I was there like 30 mins ago. Going downhill was damn fast as i could breathe much more easily.

8 KM away from starting point. 2KM more to reach Laban Rata resthouse. Ready steady go!
Me and bro and. . person behind (that's out guide -all well-prepared). Basically, he was climbing like he was strolling. Look at the drop behind. Steep shit.
