This post was meant to be posted yesterday, but i had work to do, so no choice. yeah, i tried making seafood baked rice. i wouldnt say it was the best i tested but there were loads of room for improvement. I went to Safeway to buy the ingredients at around 12noon. Came back home close to 1pm.
I bought scallops, prawns, salmon and squid for my seafood baked rice. Sounds good already eh? Also, i got a plastic rice cooker. It's one of those whereby u use it to cook rice using microwave. of course the rice wouldnt taste as good as the traditional rice cooker, but i dun have a choice. My accomodation didnt provide me wit one, and i feel that its not worth it to buy one. So i tried to cook the rice, with some garlic butter and some italian herbs for the rice. It turned out pretty good, but the microwave was pretty messed up.
Scoped the rice into a porcelain plate (similar to those u eat in restaurants. and laid it with some boiled broccoli.
Sorry about the blur picture again. couldnt take it properly, cos hand was wet and i was in a rush. had to make 3 portions cos i bought too much ingredients (i know.. as usual). also added some sliced hot dog to the rice for flavour, cos i didnt add much salt into it. So i went on to fry the seafood with italian herbs and some salt and pepper. I only made it half cooked cos i was going to bake it, i didnt wanna over cook the seafood. and finally top it with cheese.
Oh, i forgot to mention that i added some tomato base on top of the rice. So in the oven it does for about 15 to 20 mins. and the end result:
Cheese wasnt chao ta enough, and seafood were abit overcooked. Well, i guess this is wat u get when u have a small kitchen to work with. and also, the oven isnt the traditional enormous kind. it's a microwave oven. So it affects the quality quite abit. Wasn't salty enough, and tomato base is just too lousy. Should have made my own tomato base. Clean up was a chore. But it was a pretty good dinner, a healthy one i would say.

haha no la.. not really a money strike.. i have no idea how they are going to pay but it's like 100 000 or smth.. but my sis just got offered a job that pays like 7k so quite good lor..
