What would you have done?

Customer walks in arrogantly with a pen drive and a piece of paper, with "name cards" printed on an A4 size paper. What happens is that he used publisher to design name cards for his own company. What I gather was that it was a software program that was coupled together with Windows 2000. WINDOWS 2000 PEOPLE!!! We're in 2008!

Usually what happens is that they will copy their JPEG files or AI files onto my laptop, and then I will send them to our name card designer to "re-design" because most of the "designs" done by self-proclaimed "designers" can't be used.

So this cocky guy.. along with his humble designer.. ask me to copy his publisher files so that I can send to the designers for printing straight away. When I told him nicely that I can't use these files for printing...........

Cocky guy: Why not?! Don't you have Microsoft Windows Publisher?!
Me: No. Sorry. I am not a designer therefore I do not have Publisher to open your files.. And in any case, we need to...

Cocky guy: no no no... you listen to me! Who is your designer? Why don't you have publisher? Can u send to your designer and ask them to convert?
Me: ok, i check with my designer.

(call the designer on the phone immediately): designer, if i give you the publisher files, can u extract them and re-design?
Designer: no. we do not use publisher anymore. if customer provides publisher files, we will need to send to other people to do conversion. Whether the conversion is successful or not, we still have to pay them.

(explain the situation to the cocky guy)

Cocky guy: no no no... you listen. Why can't you just install publisher onto your computer and then u can open my files, and then u can send them to your designers?
Me: Even if I do that, my designer do not have publisher. They will not be able to open the files.......

Cocky guy: no no no... you listen. I get the CD for you to install onto your computer then u can pass it to your designer and ask him/her to install it into the computer. I got a fake CD, RM 7, I can give it to you for free.
Me: Sorry, we won't be able to do that for you. If you could just give me the JPEG files or AI files, I will be able to forward them to the designers and they can get the design up for you within 1-2 days.

Cocky guy: no no no... you listen, I think you can just download a trial version so you can view the files. then u can just extract it from there. U can tell your designer to do that also..

Could there possibly be a "good" way in which you can respond to this customer?
