What does your car say about you

Passionate and romantic, you fancy yourself. A bit unreliable, and can be eccentric too. You hate BMW drivers, but think and act just like them.

You would like to believe you are part of the new generation that is caring, environmentally conscious and family-orientated. Actually quite boring; nothing more than a glorified wuss. Will one day probably drive a Merc, but you still sometimes wonder if you shouldn't have bought that Bee-Em.

Self-centred, ambitious, dynamic and assertive. Can be a big show-off pig. Likes impressing too. Buppies and kugels past sell-by date. You think you will be CEO one day. Actually an office weenie who thinks you are God's gift.

Faceless, subservient and demure (except for Matiz drivers). To you, a good deal is to work from nine to five, get nothing for it, and still say thank you. And then you wonder why you don't have money for a time after hours.

Cute self-confident girls climbing the corporate ladder with ball-breaking as their hidden agenda. Will take everything you own if she divorces you.

You still live in the 70's, trying to cope with the 90's (don't even mention the millennium). A loyal, diligent worker, but baffled by office politics and labour policies. Next car will probably also be a Ford.

You are the ultimate on-road wanker. You think your 80s model Commodore is a V8 supercar, OR you think by owning a Barina you’re a true Holden fan. You’re either a redneck or a way-too-standard family parent – but either way, you most likely drive like you’re the only person on the road. You’re even ignorant enough to argue that the new Commodore is better than the new Ford.

You aspire to drive a BMW. You are an opinionated pain-in-the-butt. The ultimate suffragette, or the boss's girlfriend (male or female!).

You like the smell of diesel and have secret fantasy of being a truck driver.

Quite progressive, intelligent and practical. But misguided. The kind of person who will suggest a sub-committee to find solutions to what the committee couldn't. You will always maintain that a Korean car is better than any Japanese model.

You would like to believe you are living the American dream and just love the great outdoors. The closest you get to it is by watching Days of Our Lives and the Adventure Channel.

You are a designer person with a designer life, who always pays too much for everything. Designer mud comes free with the badge. You're a closet colonial racist and have fantasies about the Queen. If you have a Freelander, it was probably a break-up gift from your ex.

A Ford driver with less money. Mostly staid boring with no image and less imagination. Lots of retired people drive Mazdas. You're in the way and should get off the road.

Responsible, immaculate and conservative. Boring CEO clones with too much money, or the office super-geek who can't remember what it's like to have fun. Definitely not dating material.

Good, solid, responsible, loyal office-fodder. You like to travel and maintain that you can sell ice to the Eskimos. Favourite answer: "It's a company car."

Not as label-conscious as your Land Rover counterpart, but still suckered into believing in the ultimate Paris-to-Dakar, African adventure. You drive through puddles to create your own designer mud. You believe you've made the grade, but everyone else knows you've got a long way to go.

Thinks France is the best country in the world and bores everybody with your limited French knowledge and tales of the Louvre and the Sourbonne.

Small dick or mid-life crisis.

An eccentric who likes doing things the wrong way around. Usually the one who asks all the silly questions at staff meetings. You fervently believe you have flair, but it's less than that of a French cookbook. Most probably gay.

A make-believe fool, because you'd like a Pajero but can't afford it. Don't actually know that the engines are made in India and not in Germany.

Although there are thousands of them, you mostly can’t spot them in their zero-image cars. Toyotas are good, reliable cars and are bought by a wide variety of people who have zero personality to go with their cars and are basically chicken-shit scared people who will never take chances and will therefore be driving Toyotas forever.
The most zero-image car in the world?, ... a white Corolla

Highly overrated for dependability cars since the days of the Beetle, but they do have a good re-sale value. Usually practical, sensible people who like to drive fast where nobody can see them. They are usually loyal to their brand to the point of irritation due to the fact that they lost their virginity on a Beetle's back seat.

As square and safe as the car

I was quite disappointed with the comments given to Peugeot, cos my 1st car is expected to be a Peugeot 206cc. But i do aspire to drive a BMW but will definitely drive a merc before i die.

Ripped this off from my brand management article. (smirk) my prof used to drive a Volvo and now he drives a Renault (Do read the comments given to these two cars again). And yes, i dun like him.

Also, i spent alot of time doing the format, hope the view turns out fine on your web browser. Had to do the table html coding for it. maybe not hard, just very tedious.

What do you wanna drive in future?

how to slp like a baby

"alcohol does induce sleep but doesn't give you a good night's rest because it releases adrenaline and disrupts the production of serotonin (an important brain chemical that initiates sleep)."

so... do know that drinking alcohol before u slp is bad k? u always complain that u cant get to slp... dun u think that its a vicious cycle? u drink before u slp, to try n slp. but it actually affects ur slp in the long run. so stop!

Computer clean out

Havent clean my computer since Feb.. When i stayed at campus walk 2, i could give it a vaccum because they provide a vaccum cleaner. and i could easily just suck away all the dust. Now, at campus 15.. they have cleaner coming evert fortnight. i dun have a vaccum to conveniently suck it.

and one fine day, my computer started beeping, no matter how many times i restart/scan with anti-programSS.. it was still making the beeping sound. I was starting to wonder whether it was memory leak. cos it took vvv long to restart and applications opened up much more slower nowadays. And it's contradicting especially when you did all ur basic anti-scanning shit and it's still slow.

I knew it was dusty, but i didnt realised how dusty it was until i finally detach all the cables, and place the whole thing under the lamp...

It was so dusty the black fan looks white or grey.. lol. Spent almost an hour cleaning it out. I had a hard time doing it because i had problem removing my CPU-fan.. the metal heat sink (bottom left) is filled with dust and i didnt have a gd long brush to brush everything out.

After cleaning it out, the beeping stopped. and the computer was smooth once again. Except my internet is having some fucking maintainence which goes on forever. These ISP providers sent me an email telling me that there will be maintainence from friday all the way thru to sat.. fine.. but today's tuesday and they still havent got it solved. pissed off man. Im supposed to be using 512kb/s but... the speed is halved now..

Anyway, the cleaning out of the computer got me thinking.. "maybe i should invest in cleaning tools of computer instead of spending money upgrading all the hardware. Cos the dust not only slows down your computer and makes it hot, it also wrecks your fan, which makes it even less efficient if u dun clean it. i went to do a search on the internet and got me to this site - Mr PC Clean. And i tink this product below will do the job pretty well.
So instead of sucking all the dust using a vaccum, why dun u just blow all the dust out violently. Sucking actually runs a risk of u spoiling your computer parts.. but the air blaster... it probably does the job 3 times as fast as a vaccum. And it looks so cool.. lol

I might have to start looking for one, a cheaper one of course. cos the product is actually compressed air with a tiny tube which allows u to slide it into minute spaces in your computer and blow everything out..

-gon start investing in cleaning tools-

Haircut

After cutting my hair twice myself, i woke up today feeling quite pissed off with my hair. it looks messy and thick and just imbalanced.. I was in a dilemma as to whether to cut myself again or go to a hairdresser. The hairdressers in melbourne sucks.. All of them are noobs and even the experienced one cant really give you want you asked for. So out of anger, i decided to just go for a haircut. I decided to find a new one. there are a couple of hairdressers along glenferrie road. I walked into two shops and they both can cut my hair straight away. So i didnt make an appointment. Finally i went to one which looks expensive but is not.

And here's the outcome:

Looks quite bad without wax. but it's fine. and finally someone actually knows how to cut my sides:

Again, it looks weird without wax. whenever i say i want it short at the sides, then the hairdresser always messes it up. i dunno how. and this is actually the first time i get a 'balance' hair cut in Australia. Usually, i always get one side longer than the other.. and i mean it's so obvious that you can actually see it. sucks..

And the hair cut only costs me AUD30, which usually costs around AUD40. Not too bad. Felt so much better after the haircut.

Nelly Furtado - Say it right

In the day
In the night
Say it all
Say it right
You either got it
Or you don't
You either stand or you fall
When your will is broken
When it slips from your hand
When there's no time for joking
There's a hole in the plan

Oh you don't mean nothing at all to me
No you don't mean nothing at all to me
Do you got what it takes to set me free
Oh you could mean everything to me

I can't say that I'm not lost and at fault
I can't say that I don't love the light and the dark
I can't say that I don't know that I am alive
And all of what I feel I could show
You tonite you tonite

From my hands I could give you
Something that I made
From my mouth I could sing you another brick that I laid
From my body I could show you a place God knows
You should know the space is holy
Do you really want to go?

meoww

i like cats. even though i prefer their counterpart/nemesis??, doggies! but im a pretty lousy dog owner so..... oh well.

ran into this cute lil pussy cat on my way to my tuition kid's place. that area is swamped with cats! u'll see one which ever way ur head turns. n some of them r real friendly felines, like this lovely brown one.. i love its tail, long n curvy... a lil hypnotic if u ask me. anyway, do click on the picture to find out what this demented person did to cats, or prob to any other helpless creature he could (soon it'll be can) lay his hands off. dun leave ur cats out on the streets, esp if ur feline is a trusting one! i wish i could whack the hell outta all abusers. n with that i mean abusers of all living things.. esp helpless ones like the elderly, the young, n our furry friends.

on a lighter note, im so happy! got a call during tuition kid 1's session that tuition kid 2 wants to cancel tuition. so it means i can go home earlier! got a quiz tmr la... n travelling to n fro is v v tiring. giving tuition to lazy fidgety kids is worst. but getting money is gd. so.... i guess i shud stop comparing la. kays i got quiz tmr.... need to go study... shit...

(think someone will scold me cos i went to blog instead of mug. oops.)

Sweet exam timetable!

Brand Management 24/10/06 2:30pm
International Retailing 27/10/06 9:30am
Retail Technology 02/11/06 2:30pm
Buying for Ret Mkts 06/11/06 9:30am

Ok, what's so good about it is that i dun have consecutive days of exams, which i normally do. And i end early! which means, i gotta start studying for exam real fuckin soon. and it doesnt help that i only got textbooks for brand mgmt and retail buying. What's so good abt this timetable is that i can go home earlier.. My house in malaysia just got extreme make-over.. can't wait to see it. and i can also see my baby earlier! excited.. cant wait to go on our food trip and bangkok trip and ideally diving!Hopefully, i can apply for leave soon. the residential advisor job actually expects me to continue with the job. And it doesnt benefit me if i quit the job jus because i have to go back.. cos.. the next semester, i will most prob be promoted to supervisor and basically stay for free. So i hope i get the leave approval.

exams..... shit..

cleaning up my closet

y? because i found a teenaged cockroach lurking in my load of barang barang. normally creepy crawlies dun freak me out THAT much... esp if they r visible at ALL times to me, n as long as they dun fly. like, u wont see me freaking out when a flying insect decides to do a crazy aerobatic stunt in the classroom... that is until i dun see it anywhere... then, i start to worry. so whats worst than finding a cockroach in ur room?? ..................a baby one. im soooo gonna clear up my load of crap on sat. been delaying this much needed spring cleaning for who knows how long. i think im messier than a typical guy. yikes.

went to city plaza today... heard from sheryl that they sold alot of clothes at wholesale prices. well, it wasnt too bad, i discovered a couple of nice n decent shops... but that was limited to the first level. the higher one goes, the crappier the clothes get. i hate to have to dig thru a whole load of clothes jus to find that nice looking one. think this fashion; dig thru a mountain of clothes till u get a headache from the in store noise (is it supposed to be music?) that they play, n if ure lucky, u find something decent. if not... u go home with a headache la. not that i go there often.. i dun think i like the style of clothes they sell, to put it nicely. bugis is my current fav place! cheap stuff! n good thing is that most of the nicer things r kinda filtered out already.. unlike in city plaza where i still had to dig abit. avoiding bugis for the moment la, i seem to spend everytime i go there. even things that arent that nice seem to catch my attention due to the low prices..

pple say shopping is retail therapy.. but y do i feel guilty each time i spend? i think i prefer spending on food. lol. plus the fact that i actually have better uses for the money. think bills, loan, transport... i cant imagine what it'll be like living on my own in the future.. independence seems to come with an expensive price to pay huh.

i tend to ramble alot. from the cockroach to shopping to blah blah blah.
i need to lose some fats.

anyway bon voyage to ting shan whos leaving for tokyo tmr for a one year exchange! how cool is that??? envy envy envy! do take care dearie...=D
i got no moolah to go exchange n my darn skool exchange program din liase with any melb unis. bahhhhh.

DM2

The DM2 arrived much earlier than expected. It was supposed to arrive on Thursday. I received the notification card from the post office that i have an international parcel yesterday. and was extremely thrilled because i knew it was my DM2. DM2 is actually a much simpler version of a turntable. It connects directly to your computer through USB. What matters the most is the program that ure gonna use to mix then music. The program that they provided me together with the DM2 is absolutely crap man. Cant even load in your own songs and mix. although i must say that the interface looks cool, but funationality wise, it's bullshit. So i went online to search for good virtual dj-ing programs (most famous e.g. VirtualDJ). However its not compatible with DM2. The one that most people talked about was Traktor DJ studio. I found a good set of instructions as to how to set the DM2 to be in sync with traktor. BUT...... the latest traktor i got was v3.0 and the instruction was for 2.0. I tried it anyway, it didnt work. the controller settings of the DM2 wasnt compatible with the traktor v3.0... The usual steps of troubleshooting begins.. i went to search forums.. and even register and posted, asking for help. Hopefully someone will reply. Oh, another thing.. because the DM2 wants to try and act smart.. they make their files into a format that could only be played by their program... so i had to convert all the audio input and output into midi, so that i can play it with traktor. as least midi is compatible with more audio players..Sounds like im complaining alot. But there is actually no problems with the 'turntable' (DM2). Quality was good, almost on par of what i expected. and the basic functions are there. All i need to do now is to sync the DM2 with the Traktor program. Have been doing this the whole day. Havent done any work yet.. better do some now.
